Custom PC Tycoon How to Build and Sell a PC

The workbench is the first tool you touch in Custom PC Tycoon. It is also the place players stall: they buy a case, forget the PSU, and wonder why the podium pays nothing. This guide is the assemble-place-sell loop after you know the getting started route.

Required slots

A paying PC needs a complete backbone. Exact slot names vary by case, but the working set is:

• Case (some support water cooling, some do not)
• Motherboard (RAM slots and storage lanes matter later)
• CPU
• Cooling (air, AIO, or fans the case accepts)
• RAM (fill the sticks the board allows when you can afford it)
• Storage
• GPU
• PSU with enough wattage for the card

Code items such as the SP 5CE motherboard and the 6Bit V0 CPU drop into these slots like shop parts. Seat them as soon as they hit inventory. The PC parts catalogue and the Codes Hub list the common gifts.

If a prompt refuses to place the PC, you are usually missing a slot or holding a decorative extra. Desks later add mouse, keyboard, pad, headphones, and monitors — those are not workbench parts. See desk setups.

Workbench tiers and color

The starter bench builds. A paid upgrade around 100 Cash historically adds tools and unlocks primary colors. A later upgrade around 2,000 Cash unlocks secondary colors and spray cans. Colors do not replace a GPU. Unlock them when the make money row is already ticking. The full spray order lives on custom colors. Themed sets in the electronics store (cash PC sets, desk sets, Steampunk server sets) often include matching colors. Buy the set for income first, paint second. The changelog notes when a new set appears.

Place before you admire

A finished PC in inventory earns zero. Carry it to a podium, desk, or server pad and place it. Podiums are the early pads. Desks need floor two. Servers come later. The desks and servers guide covers those rooms.

Name the PC if the game lets you. A clear name helps when you take one off a pad to sell. Players in public videos use simple labels such as P59 or S60 so they do not sell the wrong tower.

When to sell

Sell when the replacement parts are already in the bag, not when you are bored of the color. Take the old PC off the pad, sell it, build the new one, place it immediately. An empty pad during a long shopping trip is lost ticks.

Do not sell a code-unique case just because a shop case is newer. Some code cases and the SCI-FI X9 (see secret parts) keep visual value even when the income gap is small.

Quality-of-life habits

• Buy a full set in one shop trip so you are not walking the road six times.
• Keep one “template” spec and clone it across podiums.
• Use controls if place/sell prompts hide on mobile.
• After a sell, confirm the pad is filled before you AFK.
• Use the income calculator if you cannot tell whether selling now is worth the empty-pad gap.

A sample rebuild without killing ticks

Say podium three holds a cash GPU you outgrew. Buy the new card first. Take only that tower off the pad. Swap the GPU, place it, confirm two ticks, then walk to the store for the next pad. Players who sell the whole row to start clean lose a minute of income on every pad at once.

Keep a written spec so the next clone matches. The early-game tier list is that spec until Diamonds show up. When a cash PC set lands in the electronics store, compare one slot, not the poster art. The changelog is the date stamp for those sets.
